Old logo Vs. New Logo

Posted at 11:50 PM on Saturday, October 11, 2003

A lot of people have wondered what difference there was, if any, between my new version of the logo and the old one. I personally think there is a huge, wonderful difference between them, but i suppose if you don't look too hard at that kind of thing, it'd be pretty easy to miss. So, I present to you a comparison, so you can see the difference for yourself.

Old Logo:

New Logo:

See what I mean? It looks MUCH more like an aqua button now (which, if you'll recall, was my original intent with this new site design in the first place. :D ) Speaking of aqua, a lot of people have told me of the other docks that are available. Most seem to prefer Y'z dock, which strikes me as odd, since it has no taskbar functionality whatsoever. I don't want to have to use the taskbar at the top of the screen, I want the dock to handle that. Sure, Y'z dock lets me drag icons onto it, and move them around on it, but it doesn't do anything with my open windows, so it's not worth my time. Object dock may not support drag-n-drop, but it works beautifully with open windows, and the thing where it displays minimized windows as a thumbnail is awesome. And then there's MurDock, which is like a mix of both, only it does it incredibly poorly. So, yeah. That's my rant. So far, ObjectDock has been great. :) Anyone has any other docks that will make my head explode because of their sheer greatness? Feel free to share.

My desktop is SO Mac.

If there is a hell for people who commit crimes against their computers, i'm probably going there. Take a look at my WINDOWS desktop, as it currently stands.

That dock is actually functional, too... you can get it here. Kind of a pain to set up, but once you get used to it, it's a snap. I can see why you mac users love this thing (though yours is just a TAD more functional. Drag-'n-drop would be nice. But yeah, my computer is now officially conflicted. :D And i LOVE IT.

Revolt!

Posted at 02:40 PM on Friday, October 10, 2003

Fellow fans and long time readers! Join with me for fight against oppression! Don't lay your eyes upon that new logo for it has strange powers that corrupt the soul! We must take this logo back to where it was forged and destoy it! In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Dean forged in secret a master logo, to control all others. And into this logo, he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. We must stop him before we fall to some horrible fate. Revolt! Revolt! DO NOT look at the logo! I beg you!

INFIDEL!

Greg, do you think that us readers really look at the logo? Especially since you didn't make a HUGE change. C'mon, we are using you for our entertainment. We come here to soak up your comic goodness and then leave either feeling satisfied or confused. (Depending on the comic.) Especially since you rarely ever update the page. Readers come here and have gotten used to just reading the comic and not seeing anything else. Shame on you for making us feel bad for not noticing your new logo! For shame! ^_^

Slow on the uptake.

I really need to start paying more attention to my duties here. See, I post a comic about a Mac OS X theme, yet I forget to post the actual link to the theme itself. Well, problem solved.

Now, you'll have to do a bit of finagling with your system files to allow non-MS themes like this to work, but if you know what you're doing it shouldn't be an issue. Another neat thing about this site is that they have a lot of the official Apple fonts, like Apple Garamond and whatnot. Big help for ME, since I like to do things like emulate logos and whatnot.

Speaking of my messing with logos, did NOBODY notice the new spiffy-fied logo? Bah. :D S'okay... I wouldn't expect you to. I just like toying around with that thing, trying to constantly somehow make it just that much more cool. Doesn't look to shabby when compared with my original logo, ne?

I believe that is all I have for you at the moment. But the day is young, so anything could happen! :D
