Well THAT sucked.

Well, it kind of halfway sucked, really. So, yeah. I'm a freakin' dumbass. I go through all the trouble of packing EVERYTHING else up, and a little 3-foot length of cord keeps me from my comic, the internet, the works. But on the flipside, I was in Seattle at the time, so I got to enjoy my vacation a little better. Kind of an impromptu break to recharge the ol' batteries. Now that I'm back and that's done with for the time being, I'm ready to kick ass and get back to comicking. Tomorrow. Right now it's late and I have to crank this little ranty thingie out so I can go to bed. I've just got back from a 760-mile drive. I'm exhausted.
Many thanks to Cliff... I'm really, REALLY glad he knows the Ioncomix system. I just had to call him, say "hey, post a rant for me about what's going on" and he did the rest. Thanks bro. I tried update the rant myself from the N-Gage, (I know... that's how sad it was. My only connection to the web, and the screen is smaller than my credit card) but as cool as that little bugger is, it has its limitations. It did kind of kick me in the ass to try and work on some mobile-enabled versions of Real Life and the backends I use to update it. It would make updating the comic from the road a snap if I can figure it out. I'll have to see if I can't talk Ukyo into making some updates to the backend software so I can do some of this stupid stuff. :) The catalyst was when I found out that PayPal has a mobile-sized version of their site, so I was able to check my balance from our table at the Space Needle. That was kinda cool.
So, yeah.... Liz and I were on a vacation of sorts this weekend. (left wednesday night) Drove up to Seattle and just kinda cruised up and down around the area. It's a beautiful city... I just fell in love with the whole area while we were up there. We also got a chance to meet up with Zach Stroum (he does Shaw Island.... it's in my link bar thingy) and his girlfriend for dinner. It was nice to finally meet the guy... we'd been chatting off and on for months. Zach's one of the good ol' boys... he's been online cartooning since before me, and I think he does it better. :) He's also an incredibly nice guy, as is his girlfriend (I'm keeping her identity secret, for her sake. The public finding her can only lead to bad things.) Also got to hang out with Safety Monkey and Batjew, who live in the area. Good buddies of ours, and I finally got to see this crazy HDTV projector screen thing Monkey's been on about. It's awesome- they've even got a futon and some easy chairs on cinder blocks and plywood to create "Stadium Seating". Anyway, I digress.
The whole point is, I was up in Seattle, loved it, and I'm back down here now, where my three foot length of cord happens to be, so my laptop is once again more useful than the 7-lb paperweight it was up in Washington. That's all for now, I suppose. I'll prolly talk more about the trip a little bit later. Oh, and if anyone has any info they can pass my way about making the site mobile-friendly, (mostly I'd like to get info on a browser detector so I can use the same address, and finding out what the general screen resolution I should go with would be. Other than that, I think I've got it figured out.) it would be much appreciated. I really appreciate your patience since Thursday. Take it easy, folks.
