Oh yeah...

Before I forget, I've managed to not die for another year in a row today! That makes 24 years of not yet expiring. I'm rather proud of myself for that. One more year and I can rent cars, so perhaps once I have the chance to get behind the wheel of a car that is not my own, I'll be able to speed up the process. :)

Seriously... I keep forgetting it's my birthday. It's pathetic - my memory is THAT bad. I have to keep being reminded by others. :D

Blank Label Comics!

Posted at 08:15 AM on Wednesday, June 22, 2005

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to announce that as of today, Real Life is joining forces with Blank Label Comics!

I've been talking with them about this for a little bit, and today I can finally announce it. First let me start off, for those who may have had their heads buried or whatnot for the past month or so, by telling you who and what Blank Label is. Blank Label is essentially an online comic co-op. A collective. It's the fully-realized version of what I was intending to do with Two Drink Minimum. As of this writing, there are now 8 of us in Blank Label. Each of us brings something to the table in terms of experience and know-how, and in return, the others help out. It's very "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours." The founding members of BLC are Kris Straub, David Willis, Paul Southworth, Paul Taylor, Brad Guigar, and Steve Troop, who recently all went independent. (If you want to know what comics they do, check the BLC mainpage - it's easier than me listing and linking them all here.)

That's the thing about BLC - it's a collective, but each member retains their full independence. Your business is your business. That's what makes it ideal for Real Life - coming in, I have experience dealing with online advertising, as well as site design, and various other odds and ends. In return, I now have the help of people who actually know what they're doing when it comes to things like marketing and press releases (speaking of which, I will be posting one regarding this shortly - my wordsmith lackey fell ill this evening. :( ) And to top it off, I know and consider all of the other members to be good friends of mine. (What, you thought the fact that all of us did that draw-in was a coincidence?)

I'd like to thank the current BLC crew for welcoming both Dave and myself into the fold, as it were, and for being there for us over the past few weeks that have been leading up to this. Hopefully I can keep up my side of the bargain. In the mean time, head over to Blank Label Comics, browse around, share and enjoy.
