Upon a little further looking around, I'm thinking perhaps I will be keeping Feedburner around after all.
The main reason is because by using Feedburner, I'm able to automatically add all those sharing links you see at the bottom of the feedburner feed - to sites like stumbleupon, del.icio.us, reddit, technorati and whatnot. That's what all you crazy kids are using now, anyway - I gotta get with the times, I suppose. :)
The best part is, I'm fairly certain now that I can slip PW ads into the feed, and that makes everyone happy. Well, me mostly, but since it means I'm keeping the image in the feed rather than cutting it down to just a link, there's a little bit of goodness to go around. :P
As an aside - be sure to check the rantspace on Monday. Big announcement. :)
So, I'm not ENTIRELY sure FeedBurner is the right option for me anymore. See, like people said - yes, FeedBurner does allow for Google ads, which sounds all well and good, but then I find out that those ads ONLY show on the feedburner "site". This is different from the feed itself - it doesn't inline that code into the feed at all. And it doesn't look like it will any time soon, either.
Next step, which someone pointed out to me as well, is to try project wonderful. From what I hear, those ads seem to work in RSS feeds just fine. We shall see. We. Shall. See. :)
