Greg: My mind is officially blown.
Liz: Okay...?

Greg: Did you know they had a freaking vaccine for chicken pox?
Liz: Yeah. For like, the last 20 years or so. Harper got it at her 1-year doctor’s appointment.

Greg: Well that is completely unfair! I got chicken pox as a kid, and the one thing I figured would be a constant is that some day, my kids would have to suffer through it just like me! Now she’s gonna go through life without the cultural touchstone that is staying home from school with the chicken pox.

Liz: So...what, virulent diseases build character?
Greg: That which does not kill you makes you stronger.
Liz: Except that there’s a small chance chicken pox will ACTUALLY kill you.
