Just so you guys know, and don’t worry when it pops up, when there’s a message at the top of the page saying “an error occurred when attempting to connect to the database”, what that essentially means is that, for whatever reason, the database running the banner system got kinda hosed. The banner system serves up a lot of data, and I kind of see it being like an overused zipper… keep zipping it up and down and up and down, and eventually that sucker’s gonna catch. It’s easy for me to fix, though… it’s as simple as backing up the table data and recreating the tables. So if you ever see that message again, don’t worry. It’s just a temporary thing. :)
