Evenin’, folks. Sorry I didn’t post about this earlier, but I was dealing with being rather sick as a dog, so I just dealt with the problem and let it be.

Yesterday, I had an ad on the left in the Project Wonderful space advertising a comic called “Concession”. Now, I’ve got PW configured such that ads don’t post ’till I approve them, and then that advertiser is set as “approved”. I usually use this just to keep the more annoying “PUNCH THE MONKEY” type ads away… and there have been a few trying to get on there, believe you me.

Anyway, I got the little e-mail saying someone wanted to advertise, and the ad looked innocuous enough – just some silhouetted figure against a sky with the title of the comic below it. I was checking it on my phone, so I didn’t really have time to go into the site, but the ad looked simple enough, so I approved it and thought nothing of it.

Later, I was informed by someone on my forums that the ad led to some kind of “weird furry dolphin porn thing”, and when I went to the site and found that, I quickly cancelled the bid. I thought that was it… until this morning, when I find that ANOTHER ad had gone up in its place, this time DIRECTLY featuring the two…whatever they were… making out with a boob hangin’ out, and generally just being wildly inappropriate. APPARENTLY, cancelling a bid in PW doesn’t prevent that bidder from just putting up another ad, and since I havbe it set to allow ads from approved publishers, it just went up without my approval. Needless to say, the bidder has since been banned from putting ads on the site, but I want to profusely apologize to those of you who saw the ad today. It was wildly inappropriate for the site, and I’m going to be keeping a much closer eye on who I do and do not approve to advertise in that space in the future. Just know that I do NOT condone that sort of thing, and if you see something like that, please e-mail me to let me know someone has abused their Project Wonderful privileges. Again, sorry for that… but I won;t let it happen again.
