Saturday’s meetup at Kreuz’ Market was a BLAST! Thank you to everyone who came – we had quite a group. I also want to thank the Owner and General Manager of Kreuz’ – I mentioned we’d be having a large number of people by to eat some tasty BBQ, and they actually put reserved signs on most of the tables in the main dining room. That was really awesome.

Basically, we talked, we commiserated, we ate…. we had a good time. Afterwards, those who could stay headed over to the (very, very small) craft faire in the town square, after which we headed over to our place for some beer, Rock Band, and an all-around good time. Saturday was a blast…. I don’t know when, but we have GOT to do it again. Way too much fun. :)

Now, I DID actually see the Sound of Music last week, which was part of the real-world discussion this comic sprang from, and though I actually enjoyed it very much, I still couldn’t help but laugh when I recieved this e-mail from a Lifer:

DON’T get tricked into watching Sound of Music! I was promised Nazis – my mind thought “Like Indiana Jones Nazis? Sweet!” – but don’t be enticed! The movie is THREE HOURS LONG. THREE!! It would be a 60 minute movie if they weren’t breaking out into song ever 4 minutes to make 2 minute conversations take 10 minutes. And the Nazis? Last 20 minutes. They tease you with the possibility of Nazi vs Freedom fighter battling throughout the movie, but they wait until you’re about to go into a coma after two and a half hours of singing to finally bring in the action. There’s something in there about a nun turned nanny turned back into nun turned into band leader that takes up 90% of the movie. It’s interesting, but there’s way too much singing. Beware!!

Good as the movie was – there’s a bit of truth to that statement.
