Paperboy and the Temple of Doom

Ok… I don’t really have a rant, its more of a stating the obvious, but bear with me for a moment.

Yesterday my boss got very upset with me about my tardiness. Thats just the back story. So last night, Greg and I decided that we were going to get to work about 15 mins early just to prove that we could do it and so I wouldn’t get fired. So we go to bed a little earlier just to wake up a little later! For some terrible reason the alarm didn’t go off. But luckily I had come out of my dream and saw the clock, and realize we had over-slept by a half hour. So I rushed to get ready.

We leave the house about the same time we usually do. Giving us about 30 mins to get to work. Usually this is more than enough time to get here. So we weren’t terribly worried. It wasn’t until we realized that we were in some screwed up Nintendo racing game that we thought we might not make it. We had cars pull out on the right-hand side of the road and turn all the way into the left lane, just to change lanes back into the slow lane! We had cars speeding up and slowing down to drive us crazy. There were handfuls of cars with their blinkers on for 3 or more blocks at a time. Cars that drove 10-20 miles less than the speed limit! All of this happens and we manage to be 2 minutes late.

This just proves that there is some kind of cosmic force trying to make sure that I can’t get to work on time. Bah! I hate my luck.

On a happier note, I start classes again today. Usually this isn’t a good thing, but I am actually excited about the classes I am taking this semester. But chances are that I will be late to all of them today and my spot will be given to someone on the waiting list…I hate my life.
