Panel 1
Mae: I think I’m gonna skip trying to get a used jacket from a surplus store, and just buy a brand new one online instead. That way I keep out of any stickiness with where the jacket came from and such.
Liz: You can just buy a brand new army jacket online?

Panel 2
Mae: Oh, heck yeah. I’ve been researching a bit, and apparently the stereotypical “army jacket” everyone thinks of is called the M-65. They pretty much stopped issuing the olive drab one in the early ‘80s, so the official ones would be pretty old.

Panel 3
Mae: But now there’s a BUNCH of companies that just make reproduction M-65’s. It’s basically become a fashion thing - this one I’m looking at has even distressed it to make it LOOK older.

Panel 4
Liz: I don’t know why, because on paper there is absolutely nothing wrong with it… but it feels just a little... oogy.
Mae: Oh, for sure! Look, this one even lists “moral ambiguity” as a selling point!
