Greg: Yeah, I'd never heard that one before. Something about a mismatch between self-image and reality.

Mae: Yeah, I'd never heard it before, either. It's a PERFECT description of the fun little dance we've been doing our whole life, though. I've been screaming that something was wrong this whole time, and you've just been stuffing those feelings back down and pretending they didn't exist.

Mae: And then you wonder why you look in the mirror and don't give a crap about your appearance. You don't IDENTIFY with yourself. That's gotta mess someone up, you know?

Greg: I'd like to think we're more or less well-adjusted.
Mae: You haven't styled your hair since 1992.
Greg: I’ll have you know “tousled” is a STYLE.
