Liz: What’s this you’re working on?
Mae: So… you know how Harper’s class is currently reading “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe”?

Liz: Sure.
Mae: Well, it turns out they’re going to be making little dioramas of their favorite scene from the book, and Harper wants to do the lamp post in the snow.
Mae: So I figure, hey - I’ve got a neat resin 3D printer. Why not print one for her so it can look all nifty, right?

Mae: Except finding a lamp post that works is so much harder than you’d think, and the ones I AM able to find aren’t really designed with printing in mind, so I’m basically having to model it from scratch.
Mae: Oh, and I’m trying to make enough for everyone who wants one, so I need to print 16 of them. That’ll take over 30 hours of printing time.

Liz: And to think, you could have just let her make one herself out of popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and just spent your time playing video games.
Mae: Well I don’t know what Harper’s takeaway from this assignment will be, but I have most assuredly learned my lesson.
