Panel 1
Dr. Deutsch: Well, nothing in your medical history presents a problem, so I’ll send over a prescription for Spironolactone and Estradiol. You’ll need a blood test in about 2 months, and then I’ll see you again in 3. Any questions, just shoot me an e-mail.
Mae: Wait… that… that’s it?

Panel 2
Dr. Deutsch: Um… yes? Am I forgetting something?
Mae: No, I just… I mean, this has been “off in the future” for a while now, and all of a sudden just like that you’re sending over a prescription. It’s such a big deal, and it’s just, like.. HERE.

Panel 3
Dr. Deutsch: I get it. You’re excited, and that’s normal. Just remember that this is only the beginning of something that’s going to take a while. We’re going to be on this journey for a while, so don’t obsess too hard on every detail.

Panel 4
Mae: I mean… you read my medical history. How likely do you think it is that I can do anything without being obsessive about it?
Dr. Deutsch: I’m going to regret giving you my e-mail address, aren’t I?
Mae: It was definitely a misstep, if I’m being honest.
