Panel 1
Mae: OK, I don’t get it. You’ve changed HUGE things in the past! You made MARS HABITABLE.
Tony: Right, but that only affected the probability flux by 0.42.

Panel 2
Tony: Look, every action that differs from the prime universe has a cascading effect on probability. Small changes tend to self-correct over time and don’t really affect the overall probability flux.
Tony: Giving Mars a breathable atmosphere might seem like a huge deal, but since nobody can really GET there right now except for us, it’s a relatively small impact.

Panel 3
Tony: But if, say, I was to completely cure COVID-19, the similarity between the prime universe and ours would grow increasingly divergent. It’s unlikely the two would ever reconvene, and the dissonance would rip us apart.
Tony: By my measurements, we’re already at a solid 5.84. I can’t take the risk.

Panel 4
Mae: Well then, what happens when mankind finally gets the resources to go to Mars?
Tony: Then I get to play a fun live-action game of “Among Us”!
